Coalition App

SAT Score Send
For the first time ever, students can order official SAT scores and submit college applications in the same place: MyCoalition! So far, over 3,000 students have linked their Coalition and College Board accounts! Students no longer have to log into the College Board website separately to send their SAT scores to each college. Plus, if they’ve been awarded a College Board fee waiver, students can send their scores to an unlimited number of schools (even those that aren’t Coalition members) at no cost. You can learn more about our collaboration on the College Board blog.

Registering for the SAT or ACT:
Please register for the ACT at act.org and SAT at collegeboard.org. Please note the following early registration deadline dates (you can register after the deadline date, but a late fee will be required). We recommend registering at least once for the “Writing” (essay) portion of the ACT or SAT although many colleges will not consider it in their admission decisions nor are requiring it. We encourage students to take two "real" tests this fall semester.

Reporting Your Scores to Us:
On the first day that SAT or ACT specific exams date scores are scheduled to be released, I will email students to log into either their SAT or ACT accounts to check. It is very important that students email me their results for every test attempted as I compile ongoing student data. A student’s data assists our test prep instruction team in evaluating our live prep session content as well as in tweaking a particular student’s test prep program. I will email “tweaks” to students and parents (part of the data keeping is monitoring a student’s ePrep online practice program, online prep practice progress, and live prep class attendance). PLEASE respond promptly with your scores.

Scholarships

There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Social Media

You may think that picture your friend tagged you in is no big deal, but what if a prospective college admissions officer saw it? Would they notice anything that could hurt your chances of being placed in the admit pile? It seems every year there is a story about social media coming into play with admissions. We encourage all of our students to always do a social media audit and make sure their privacy settings are turned on and a simple Google search on their name doesn't bring up anything we wouldn't want a college to find. Here's an article that helps you learn how to use your social media to SHINE!

As you visit colleges this summer, try to ask yourself this question for each school:

"Why do I want to attend THIS college?"

Can you provide a compelling answer you could share in an essay or when talking with a college rep?

If you can't answer that question, then why is that college on your list? Do you need to investigate further?

If you CAN answer the question, CONGRATULATIONS! Research everything you can about their admission requirements. Your TCM counselor will work with you on coding and timelines!

Test Prep Sign Up

SAT ACT Prep

Test prep students, when you are registering for live classes utilizing our Acuity online scheduler, please make sure that you are signing up for the correct class based on your strength test. You should be signing up for either ACT or SAT classes, not the other and not both. This confusion is causing classes to fill up in error. Also, please do not sign up more than once for each individual class as this is also causing classes to fill up in error. We truly appreciate your CAREFUL attention to this matter.

Please sign up at our Acuity Scheduler website!

Please register for the ACT at act.org OR SAT at collegeboard.org. Please note there are early registration deadline dates. You can register after the deadline date but a late fee will be required.

There are many good scholarship search tools/engines on the internet. Their primary function is to assist you in finding scholarships that match the eligibility criteria you enter for GPA, gender, residency, ethnicity/heritage, religion and area of study, hobbies, interests — some of the most common criteria used. The College Map team recommends the following search engines:

Scholarships.com

FastWeb

Big Future

Unigo

SallieMae

Please make sure to "click" or fill out as much information as possible. Once you've entered your information into the database, the search engine will generate a list of all current scholarships you qualify for. We recommend sorting that list by due date.
